“What is it like to be in love?”

“Free. It feels free, like there’s nothing that can stop me, nothing can hold me down.
It feels as if I can do anything because of love and I’m free of the fear of failure because,
even if I can’t do everything, at least at the end of the day,
there’s still me and him. When all else fails, love won’t.”

[00SJ11] feminine!Heechul pt 3

words: 1398

(Day 11 of the Fanfiction series.)

On an average day, if one were to ask any of the Super Junior members if they liked each other, they would say ‘yes’. On an average day, if one were to ask any of the Super Junior members if they liked Heechul, only one would say ‘yes’; the rest would be slightly more hesitant. It wasn’t that they hated Heechul, it was that he was a peculiar character and one enjoyed his company. More often than not, they really liked Heechul, but they’d never admit it to his face. This day, however, SJ-M members would unanimously agree to NOT like Heechul.

Heechul had been with them in China for four days and, apparently, that was their limit; especially, since Heechul had been reading more fanfictions non-stop. (Hankyung began to complain to the others of being deprived. They did not want to know what he was being deprived of.)

It was the morning and the SJ-M members were slowly waking up, glad to have at least one day of reprieve in their promotional activities in China. Donghae was still away in Korean and Henry was sitting at the table, his cheek lying down on the table as one hand idly played with the spoon in his cereal bowl. Ryeowook was taking a shower, his voice flowing out towards them in a muffled, sweet harmony. Zhou Mi came out of his and Kyuhyun’s room, the younger man had his arms draped around Zhou Mi’s shoulders. Zhou Mi dragging the still-sleeping Kyuhyun behind him, deposited Kyuhyun onto the couch before joining Henry at the table. Hankyung was missing that morning and Shiwon, the only member who seemed to be completely awake, was sitting on the other couch, studying his mandarin.

When the dorm’s front door opened, Henry raised his head slightly off the table as Hankyung appeared, pulling off his shoes. The leader was dressed in jogging pants and a sweatshirt, causing Henry to raise an eyebrow in silent question.

“Out for a run,” he explained as he traipsed to the kitchen and grabbed a chilled bottle of water, “I seem to have a lot of pent-up energy the past four days.”

Henry lowered his head to the table, but this time, it was his forehead that banged against the smooth, wooden surface.

Just then, Heechul burst out of Hankyung’s room dressed in pink, flannel pyjama pants and top, his shoulder-length hair pulled back into a high pony-tail.

“Are fanfiction authors trying to make me cry!?” Heechul demanded as he sat at the table across from Henry and adjacent to Zhou Mi.

Hankyung leaned a shoulder against the Kitchen’s archway, “What did they do now?”

“THEY ARE WORSE THAN NETIZENS!” Heechul declared, lowering his head to the table as his arms wrapped around his head.

Zhou Mi, Henry and even Shiwon looked at Hankyung, silently asking – pleading – for him to do something.

Hankyung took a deep swig of his water, as if it contained something stronger, and then pushed away from the wall and sat on the other end of the table, adjacent to both Heechul and Henry; Zhou Mi across from him. Placing his bottle of water on the table, carefully capping it, the three SJ-M members who were conscious watched him irritably as the leader put too much time and concentration to each fine movement. When Hankyung began to pull off his sweater over his head, Henry made fierce contact with Hankyung’s shin by using a sock-clad foot.

Hankyung shot him a look as he pulled off his sweater and tossed it to the couch (landing on Kyuhyun’s feet) before placing a hand on one of Heechul’s arms, “What did they do now?”

“MY HAIR!” He exclaimed,

Hankyung looked at the other members (save Kyuhyun who was still asleep and Ryeowook who was still singing in the shower) and saw all of them physically sigh. Repressing his own urge to sigh, he asked tentatively, “And what did they say about your hair?”

“THEY COMPARED IT TO THAT OF A GIRL’S!” Heechul stated as he suddenly sat up, his hands fisted on the table.

Hankyung blinked before saying, “But you do sometimes keep your hair long… and you’ve said yourself – on more than one occasion – how your hair is better than most of the female population.”

“Exactly!” Heechul grounded out, “My hair is better than that of a girl’s! There’s no comparison! It is impossible to even attempt a comparison!”

Since he first met Heechul, he became accustomed to the slow throbbing of a part of the back of his head. When they first got together, it steadily increased in intensity. At that moment, the throbbing made an appearance and he raised his free hand to the base of his skull and rubbed it wearily.

“So you’re complaining that they didn’t describe your hair good enough?” Henry asked, rolling his head so that his chin rested on the tabletop instead of his cheek.

Heechul nodded.

“But weren’t you complaining before of how fanfiction authors are constantly likening you to a girl?” Shiwon inquired, looking up from his book.

“Yes, but if they’re going to do it, they might as well do it right!” Heechul stated vehemently. He crossed his slender arms over his chest, “At least last time, when I was on the bottom at least they didn’t underestimate my power or virility-” He took this moment to look at Hankyung and wink at him, causing Henry to slap a hand over his eyes; “And at least they were smart enough to call me beautiful – although divine would’ve been acceptable too.”

“Wait, wait, wait,” Henry held up his hands in a Shiwon-like gesture, “First you were complaining because of how they were constantly describing you of being… feminine? And now you’re complaining because now the authors aren’t doing it right?”

Heechul actually took a moment to think that over before, finally, nodding decisively.

“ARGH!” Henry stood up, “I’m going back to bed before I kill him,” he stated as he walked off; his statement followed by a string of English words, presumably swears.

“Why did Donghae have to go back to Korea? He’d understand my pain,” Heechul sighed, bringing the back of his hand to his forehead,

“NO HE WOULDN’T HAVE!” Henry yelled before a door slammed shut.

“What’s all the yelling ab-OWW!”

Four pairs of eyes turned their attention to the couch adjacent to Shiwon’s. The sleeping member was now gone and, instead, was lying facedown on the ground. Kyuhyun pushed himself off the ground, climbing back onto the couch as he kicked away Hankyung’s sweater,

“What was that doing around my feet?” Kyuhyun asked as he checked his limbs for any damage, “And why is there all this yelling?”

“Kyuhyun, fanfiction authors compare me to females, but if they’re going to do it, they should do it right, right?” Heechul asked sweetly as he sailed from the table to Kyuhyun’s side on the couch. “I’m prettier than females, right?”

“Obviously,” Kyuhyun stated as he stood up, “Hankyung could have any girl he wants in Korea or China and he’s with you. And although the rest of us question his sanity for it, it means something right?”

“That’s so true!” Heechul’s eyes suddenly lit up, “They’re all jealous! That’s what this is all about!” He stood up and began walking back to Hankyung’s room as if in a chance; “They’re all jealous of me! Of course! I should have known.”

Shiwon, Kyuhyun, Zhou Mi and Hankyung all sat silently until the soft thud of a bedroom door closing was heard. Finally, Hankyung looked at Kyuhyun, slanting him a look,

“Did you really just do that? Did you really just feed his ego?” Hankyung demanded,

“It was either that or listen to him complain for the rest of his stay here… no, no – for the rest of our lives!” Kyuhyun stated, sitting back in the couch, crossing his arms defiantly, “I did what was for the good of everyone.”

“For the good of everyone would be to get him away from the damn fanfictions,” Hankyung sighed as he grabbed his water and drank deeply.

“It’s Heechul that’s become obsessed,” Kyuhyun stated, “Fanfiction has done nothing to me.”

“Just wait,” Shiwon warned before turning his attention back to his mandarin lessons,

Kyuhyun shook his head as Zhou Mi came and sat next to him on the couch, “Nothing fanfiction authors write about could ever make me thatcrazy.”
