(Day 16 of the Fanfiction series.)
When Heechul had run off to China, the members who had to live in the same dorm as him got some peace and quiet. It was marvellous. However, the day came when Heechul returned and he had read so many more fanfictions since they last saw him. So, it was no surprise when some of them awoke on the sixteenth day of the challenge to find Heechul on the common computer.
“Not fanfictions again, oh Buddha, please tell me it’s not more fanfictions,” Eeteuk murmured as he emerged into the living room and continued on to the kitchen.
“At least read my stories if you’re going to waste your time,” Shindong said as he walked over to the dining table and plopped down into one of the chairs.
“I don’t know what the fuss is all about; I like fanfictions,” Donghae admitted as he entered the living room and just collapsed onto one of the couches.
Heechul glanced over his shoulder, “Hey Donghae.”
“Hmm?”
“Eunhae.”
“AH!” Donghae sat up suddenly, “Don’t say that word! You know how upset Kibum gets when he hears it!”
“It’s not like Kibummie’s around,” Heechul said simply as he turned his attention back to the computer,
“The way he’s been popping up everywhere, I’m surprised he’s not here,” Shindong said just as Eeteuk joined him at the dining table, the distant sound of coffee being made reaching his ears.
“Well, tell me again how much you like fanfictions,” Heechul challenged, “I’ll just say that word again and –”
“That proves nothing. Kibum hates that word… I do not,” Donghae insisted, “It has a nice ring to it.”
“You know what else has a nice ring to it? Heekyung,” Heechul stated.
“What the hell is that?” Shindong asked bluntly,
“Why, a Heechul – Hankyung pairing of course!” Heechul said, swinging the chair around so he faced the others. He crossed his arms loosely about his torso, “I’m older, so my name should go first! All of the Hanchul this and Hanchul that… Heekyung is the way of the future!”
“But… Hanchul sounds better,” Eeteuk said tentatively,
“You just say that because it’s not Teuk-kang,” Heechul accused, effectively shutting the leader up. “Besides, this is just another way that those damn fanfiction authors are trying to emasculate me! First they put me on the bottom… then they call me beautiful… then they insult my hair –”
“I thought they complimented your hair?” Shindong asked just as Donghae shook his head at him,
“THEY SHOULD LEARN TO COMPLIMENT PROPERLY!” Heechul exclaimed before calmly continuing, “Now all this Hanchul stuff…”
“But Heechul, you knew about Hanchul for years,” Shindong stated, “Why are you getting upset now?”
“Because I’ve realized the trend,” Heechul explained, “Everything and anything that fanfiction authors have done to me in their stories up until this point has all been to emasculate me in the fictional world! Well, I won’t tolerate it any more!”
“So… you’re going to spread around Heekyung?” Donghae asked, “Hyung, it’ll take a lot of effort and time for Heekyung to replace Hanchul.”
“Such pessimism,” Heechul admonished,
“It’s true,” Donghae replied,
“Eunhae,” Heechul said dryly, effectively silencing Donghae as well. He turned his attention to Shindong, the only member present whom he wasn’t forced to silence with a cutting retort, “So, what do you say Shindong? Will you help me spread the word of Heekyung?”
“I don’t know… If it doesn’t become popular, I could get ostracized from the fanfiction communities!” Shindong exclaimed, “After all my work establishing myself as a fanfiction author… creating the ships and spreading their names around until they’re popular –”
“That’s right… you started all of the SJ ships,” Heechul’s eyes narrowed, “YOU WERE THE FIRST TO FEMINIZE ME!”
Shindong threw him a slanted look, “You did that on your own.”
“Can I come out now, Heechul?” Hankyung called out from his bedroom, “I hear all this yelling.”
“Yes, yes,” Heechul yelled back.
When Hankyung appeared, Eeteuk, Shindong and Donghae threw him all curious glances. So, he said simply, “Heechul thought that if we always appeared in a specific order – that being I appear after him – then it’ll help people assimilate Heekyung into their vocabulary.”
“Nobody beats Kim Heechul!” Heechul stated, punching a victorious fist into the air,
“Nobody’s crazier than Kim Heechul!” Shindong mirrored his hyung’s actions as he stood from the table and turned towards the kitchen.
“I will have my revenge Shin Donghee, for this betrayal you have thrown at me!” Heechul said, touching the back of one hand against his forehead,
“Betrayal?” Shindong scoffed before he gestured to Hankyung, “When I started writing, he’s the one who came up with Hanchul.” With that, Shindong escaped into the kitchen, distantly hearing Heechul turn his wrath onto the foreigner;
“Let’s get some things straight, Hankyung! First of all, I am older and I refuse to be emasculated any longer! Second of all, if we were in prison, you’d be my bitch and not the other way around! Third of all, why did you lock your door last night? You know I’m developing carpal-tunnel syndrome and I can’t do it on my –”
“AH!” Shindong appeared in the archway between the living room and the kitchen, “If I promise to spread the word about Heekyung will you stop talking!?”
“Will you use some of the material I give you when you write your stories about Hankyung and I?” Heechul questioned.
“Don’t push it,” Shindong grounded out,
“I’m happy with Heekyung,” Heechul smiled at him sweetly,
“You better be happy with Heekyung,” Shindong muttered grudgingly as he turned back into the kitchen, “Establishing a ship name is difficult! Kyumi and Henwook took months…”
“Hey! If you’re changing ship names, I want Kangteuk changed too!” Eeteuk stated.
“Sorry hyung, it has to be believable.”
